Hello!

My name is Lisa Grayson.  I am the founder of Healing is the Children’s Bread and I would like to welcome you to this website ☺.  A little about myself…  I am married to my wonderful husband and we have 4 children together.  I am a born again Christian who is in awe with and loves the Lord.  My passion is for healing through massage therapy and physical fitness.   It is the Lord’s work that I am doing what I am doing so I thank and praise God for all that HE has done and is doing!

Remember His marvelous works which He has done. — Psalm 105:5

My story:

Most people who meet me now would never know I never played sports, worked out, joined a gym, or otherwise made fitness a part of my life before 2010.  In fact, it was in 2010 that I accepted Christ, quit smoking and as a result of prayer and confirmation in June of 2011 joined a rapidly growing network marketing company called ViSalus and thus began my fitness journey.

My first 90 day challenge was simply to tone and shape up.  Truth be told I wasn’t expecting much.  I didn’t really need to lose weight and did not consider myself that out of shape.  But 90 days later using their Core kit and some home workouts I had a noticeable and to me an impressive difference.

A year later (2013) I ended up joining the gym (hoping to keep a new Challenge taker encouraged!).  And another year later, after prayer and confirmation, took a leap of faith and became certified as a NASM certified personal trainer and then October of 2014 officially began work as a NASM CPT.

It was my early days as a trainer I ended up with my own shoulder injury.  Many years of poor posture (rounded shoulders and forward head a.k.a. upper crossed syndrome) was a set up for shoulder injury.  The shoulder injury progressed to an almost frozen shoulder and led me to seek help via Dr. appointments which resulted in muscle relaxers and corticosteroid shots and ultimately relief was only temporary.

Thankfully I had NASM as my certification and applying the NASM protocol of inhibiting, lengthening, and strengthening the muscles eventually allowed me once again to use my shoulder.    My own understanding of pain and desire to help others along with an intuitiveness with muscle inhibition made me a unique trainer and ultimately led me to earning a certification as a massage therapist in October of 2016.

Shortly after graduating and with the Lord’s leading, Healing is the Children’s Bread was started and as of March 2017, officially founded.
